Sure it can. Just because the borg are a hive mind doesn’t mean discreet numbers of them don’t exist and can’t be counted. Even they break themselves up into groups for tactical reasons (Seven of Nine). You can count how many borg have boarded your ship while also recognizing the collective consciousness driving the boarding action.

I’ll pop by BBC America every so often just to see which one is on. Most I find unwatchable now, but there’s eps that I’ll just go “Welp, my night is made!” Darmok, Masks, the one where they keep reliving the save day until Frasier ’s ship doesn’t crash into them, the one where they keep getting abducted during sleep, the one where they break space & time trying to jump - start a Warbird. Still good, all these years later. Just wish they'd get DS9...
